Our Mission

Our mission is to drive the successful and complete adoption of the S&P Capital IQ Pro across our entire user population. We will drive a seamless upgrade to S&P Cap IQ Pro that puts ours users at the center of our decisions and results in strengthened relationships with S&P Global.


What guides our Smart Move strategy?

Our users. 

The name “Smart Move” acknowledges that we're asking our users to make a disruptive change to their workflow. While this move may create friction in the short term, we have conviction that the modern technology and differentiated data increasingly and exclusively available on the S&P Cap IQ Pro will sustain their workflows long into the future.

Therefore, our strategy puts our users at the center of every decision. From the formation of the Smart Move committee in 2018 to the implementation of the Feedback Program in 2019, our migration approach has relied on the voice of our users. We are dedicated to a superior customer experience that feels thoughtful, and most importantly, empathetic.

How does the S&P Capital IQ Pro increase our right to win?

Our clients have evolved past a reliance on fundamental data. Rich analysis and opportunity lie in alternative data sets and the links between them, and in the competitive landscape of information providers, differentiated data defines our edge.

In addition to the work we’re doing with feeds, Marketplace, and the data itself, we need a desktop solution that matches this innovation and can support, link, and deliver the new content our clients crave. With the S&P Capital IQ Pro, we truly deliver a suite of solutions that set new standards in different data and information delivery.

Why are we providing dual access to S&P Capital IQ users?

We celebrate the tremendous value of the S&P Capital IQ platform and its add-ons. It is a critical component to our business and continues to drive a significant amount of usage and ACV. 

However, its technology has a shelf life. We want to maintain our right to win in a competitive market, and that means keeping up with a user population that is more sophisticated, more global, more mobile, and faster to act. The S&P Capital IQ Pro leverages the technology needed to keep pace with evolving expectations.

Why are we integrating our platforms?

Client feedback indicates that users want to be able to access our data and insights in a centralized, easy-to-use interface that is well integrated into their workflow. “My ideal tool: a fully integrated product as opposed to switching windows 25x a day.”

This move will also help us better realize our commercial model. With a single platform, our product offering is clear, which allows our commercial teams to more easily prescribe our products in diagnostic conversations, drive value with clients, and clear the path to meeting financial goals. 

From a product development perspective, a single platform will reinforce the Agile framework and enable us to respond more quickly to client requests, the competitive landscape, and new technology.
