Working from home? Clients tell us that the S&P Capital IQ Pro Mobile App on iOS and Android is serving as a great "extra screen" in their work-from-home environments to monitor the markets and get important news alerts during the Coronavirus outbreak. On this page you can watch the video to see an overview of the core capabilities offered by the app. Scroll down further for step-by-step instructions on the most common uses cases for the app, which are helpful any time, but especially during a global pandemic.
Monitor the Markets with Watchlists
Tap on the Watchlist icon at the bottom of the app. At the top of the Watchlist page, you'll see a dropdown to select any of 'My Lists' you have saved. Tap the 3-dot icon to either switch Watchlist to light or dark mode, or go to List Manager to create and edit My Lists.
Once you select your preferred list, you can sort it in ascending or descending order and scroll to the right to see additional data. You can also tap any entity to open up its Corporate Profile snapshot for more details.
Curate Your News Feed
When you open the app, you'll see 'My News' as your homepage. This page shows a selection of the most recent news, which you can curate to your liking. Just tap the filter icon, apply your choice of filters based on Saved Lists, Industry, or Geography, and tap "Apply Filters".
View Corporate Profile Snapshots
You can access Corporate Profiles by either searching for a company, fund or institution in the search bar, or by selecting a company from a Watchlist as mentioned above.
This will open a snapshot view of the Corporate Profile which is optimized for mobile (read: loads faster!). If you'd like to view more details, scroll to the bottom for the option to expand to the Full Corporate Profile.
Manage Push Notifications
You can create and edit your mobile push notifications of sector-focused news or key market updates from either your mobile device or desktop. Set up triggers for News & Industry Research, Transcripts, Key Developments, Stock Price, or New/Restated Financial Periods based on your custom criteria.
Save Your Favorite Content
Throughout the app, wherever you see a bookmark icon, you can tap it to save content to your Saved Items. You'll find it on My News and content pages such as investor presentations, news and research content, and earnings calls. All of your Saved Items are accessible from the 'Saved' button at the bottom of the app, or in 'Saved Items' on your desktop. Items marked green are saved for Offline access.
