January 2024 Release Highlights:

What’s new: Investment Research reports are now available in the Document Viewer, providing users an enhanced intradocument search, document sharing, and annotations. These features will provide users with improved data discovery and interactivity with our library of Investment Research reports. See the release notes >

Workflow improvements:
  • When users opt to Download or Print from the Report Preview feature from the Acquire Reports menu, the Document Viewer will now automatically launch. The selected research document(s) will still download or print to a user's local machine concurrently.
  • Users can easily perform company, keyword, industry and geography searches across investment research, filings, transcripts, and investor presentations content. The results can be viewed in a new Investment Research search results widget on the Document Viewer.
  • Enhanced keyword search functionality enables users to search for keywords or phrases within an Investment Research report in the Document Viewer. This feature provides additional functionality of searching on synonymous keywords or phrases. Clicking on each instance of the keyword or phrase will automatically navigate users to the highlighted keyword or phrase within the document.
  • The Notepad annotation feature allows users to highlight a portion of text within the document, save it to a new or saved notepad, and add commentary associated to the selected excerpt.
  • The Document Sharing function for Investment Research allows users to highlight noteworthy areas of a document and share the highlighted document with colleagues who also have similar Research access in S&P Capital IQ Pro.
Trucost Business Activity Integration for ESG Data

What’s new: In this release, we added new fields for revenue related information associated at the Trucost Business Activity level in Screener, S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in, and Dashboard that helps users to easily screen for companies and environmental data based on Trucost Business Activity. What’s new: In this release, we expanded our private markets offering by adding valuation data on Market Maps to provide users with more insights during the deal exploration process and enhanced the Limited Partners view with investment criteria and LP Co-Investor information to assist users in fundraising and manager selection workflows. We added a time series view of aggregated Dry Powder & Assets Under Management (AUM) trends to provide users with insights on deployed and undeployed capital within Private Equity over time. We expanded the coverage of portfolio relationships and added new fund and firm criteria to Screener and the S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in for users with Preqin Premium access.   • Users can access aggregated Private Equity Dry Powder & AUM trends, derived from performance data sourced from Preqin, organized by fund strategy and geographic focus.
  • Users with Preqin Premium subscription access can view additional portfolio relationship data (sourced from Preqin) on the PE Investors page, a firm/fund's Corporate Structure, Funds/Partnerships pages, and on the portfolio company's Private Ownership page.
  • Users with Premium access will be able to screen for Investment Firms and Funds using new criteria in Screener, such as fund quartile, oversubscribed or undersubscribed fundraising, and management team staff. Users can also benefit from these premium additions within the S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in.

OTT & Wireless Content Expansion for Technology, Media & Telecom

What’s new: In this release, we added OTT (Over-the-top) subscription metrics to supplement existing Video, Broadband and Mobile subscriptions data, offering a broader picture to viewer trends in traditional TV and online video universe at the operator by market level. We also expanded our wireless spectrum dataset by adding new license types along with an additional wireless geographic market.  See the release notes >

Workflow improvements:
  • Users will now have access to OTT and Virtual Multichannel Service subscription metrics for select operators and markets on the TMT Operator & OTT Knowledge Base. The page also allows users to compare metrics across operators to understand market trends and growth rate.
  • Users can access three new Wireless License types, i.e., 3.5 GHz CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service), 600MHz UHF (Ultra High Definition), and 3.7-3.98GHz C-Band on all relevant Wireless interactive pages. With 20k+ CBRS, 5k+ 3.7 GHz, 2500+ 600MHz UHF and the recent addition of 16k+ UMFUS (Upper Microwave Flexible Use Service), licenses, our total wireless license coverage now stands at over 70k (from 28k previously).
  • Users can access PAL D ‘Priority Access License D’ County FIPS market on all relevant wireless interactive pages on the Capital IQ Pro platform, including Market Demographics, Licenses in Market and Related Wireless Markets pages.

Ownership Analytics Renamed to Investor Screening

What’s new: In this release, the Investor Targeting tool is renamed to Investor Screening. We also added new Portfolio Statistics fields on the Companies Screener to enable users to screen for portfolio-level holdings data.  See the release notes >

  • Users can see Investor Screening in all areas of the platform where it was previously labeled Investor Targeting. With the Investor Screening tool, users can view the top owners for a sub-sector, index, or a list of companies, both in aggregate and by individual company. Users can also filter various investor attributes before analyzing the data or exporting to Excel.
  • Users can view Portfolio Statistics for funds and firms within the Companies dataset in Screener and the S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in. Newly added fields include Equity Assets, Number of Positions, Sold Out Positions, and much more.

What’s new: In this release, we added M&A bid premia averages and medians on the transaction statistics page so users can study the average deal premiums paid within a sector, region or a combination of region and sector. What’s new: In this release, we expanded the environmental data in S&P Capital IQ Pro by adding physical risk scores data from The Climate Services (TCS) and incorporated new physical risk hazard data in Portfolio Analytics.
