  • Users can now access index prices and constituent data for FTSE ADX and FTSE JSE SA REIT indices (constituent data requires licensing).
  • Users can access up to 20 years of aggregated multiples for Indices in Index Profile under Financials/Valuation section for yearly, quarterly, and monthly periods. The expanded aggregates will allow users to conduct better benchmarking and more insightful analysis.

Workflow Improvements:
  • Users can access the new Loan Matrix widget in Dashboard, which displays an aggregate view of S&P-rated facilities based on an Issuer’s Industry/Sector, and an option to navigate to Loan Sector Profile to see the security details. Users can view improved data displays on Loan Security Detail, coupled with enhanced filtering on Loan Sector Profile with the addition of more granular industry classifications and a new Country filter.
   

Macroeconomic Data

What’s new: In this release, we enhanced Macroeconomic data within the Geographic Intelligence Screener by adding select economic indicators for broad regions. Additionally, users with premium access to the Purchasing Managers’ IndexTM (PMITM) Metals, UK Jobs, and Price Pressure & Supply Shortage Indices License can see historical and current data on PMI Summary page and within the Geographic Intelligence Screener for these indices.

  • Users with premium access to the named PMITM Indices can now get a detailed view of current and historical business conditions for newly added Purchasing Managers’ IndexTM (PMITM) Metals, UK Jobs and Price Pressure & Supply Shortage indices for a country/region.
  • Users will now have access to broad regions in the Geographic Intelligence perspective on Screener and in Capital IQ Pro Plug -In for select macroeconomic indicators. What’s new: In this release, we enhanced our private company data coverage for APAC private companies including a 3rd party vendor sourced firmographics, financials and officers and directors' data for small and medium enterprises based in India. We also added a new Custom Benchmark Excel template which helps users with additional subscription access to perform PE/VC fund benchmarking analysis. Additionally, we enhanced the existing Private Equity Firm & Fund Details Excel template to facilitate the filtering of relevant General Partners, based on specific investment criteria, preferences, and strategies.

  • Users can access additional financials & firmographics data for small and medium enterprises in India, significantly enhancing coverage for this geography.
  • Users can access additional officers and directors' data for small and medium enterprises in India, significantly enhancing coverage for this geography.
  • Users with the Premium subscription add-on can access a new Custom Benchmark Excel template to perform custom PE/VC fund benchmarking. ESG

Platform: S&P Capital IQ Pro

What’s new: In this release, we introduced new Net Zero commitments, providing users the ability to assess corporate climate targets. Additionally, we have continued to update ESG scores based on the 2023 annual CSA methodology and updated modeled scores for prior years. Furthermore, we added environmental point-in-time (PiT) and As Reported (AR) data allowing users to access data at a historical point in time and as reported data by the company. Lastly, we introduced a new screen capturing the involvement of companies in the expansion of Coal Mines, Power Plants and Transportation Infrastructure.

Workflow Improvements:
  • Users can now access the latest S&P Global ESG Scores and S&P Global CSA Scores for 8000+ companies. The latest scores are based on the 2023 annual CSA methodology which evolves annually to ensure alignment with recent updates in recognized standards and frameworks, and to accurately capture corporate efforts in answering upcoming sustainability challenges.
  • Users now have the ability to assess corporate climate targets on their comprehensiveness, adequacy, credibility, completion and examine long-term forecasts of Scopes 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions through 2050 on the Capital IQ Pro platform.
  • Users can now access the modeled scores for prior years based on the updated methodology. These are not restatements of the historical S&P Global ESG Scores and are only provided for comparative assessment to show what the S&P Global ESG Scores would have been including modeling approaches for the years prior to 2023.
  • Users can access and view a company’s profile at a historical point in time. If adjustments or amendments were implemented, we would identify the reasons behind the change while preserving access to the historical data. Additionally, users can access the raw, as reported data as published by the company. This will help highlight what was, or was not, included in a company’s sustainability reporting and the value S&P Global brings in its modeling process to normalize and standardize the data.
  • Users can access a new screen on the company page and Screener. The Coal Expansion screen captures the involvement of companies in the expansion of coal mines, power plants and transportation infrastructure, including relevant metrics per activity and whether the company has a commitment to phase it out.





Fundamentals

Platform: S&P Capital IQ Pro

What’s new: In this release, we introduced a period slider on the Key Stats and As-Reported pages, added CIQ Data Item IDs to definition pop-up windows, and introduced the CIQ Financial Glossary to the S&P Capital IQ Pro platform. With these enhancements, clients will have access to more extended definitions for CIQ Fundamentals and be able to adjust filters and parameters with ease.

Workflow Improvements:
  • Users will have access to CIQ Data Item IDs in the definition pop-up for Capital IQ sourced data in the templated financial pages.
  • Users can access S&P Capital IQ Financials Glossary that provides extended definitions of CIQ sourced financial data items, which details financial concepts that are included or excluded from the data items.
  • Users can now use the modern filters and the period slider on the Key Stats and As-Reported pages, which is similar to what is already available on the Templated Financial pages.

What’s new: In this release, we added industry specific estimates to Surprise Alerts, which allow users to receive alerts on earnings beats and misses for companies they track.

Transactions

Platform: S&P Capital IQ Pro

What’s new: In this release, we included additional information that enhances the consideration details of M&A deals as well as new clickthrough for Target and Buyer Financials. The additional transparency will help users understand the exact securities involved as a part of the deal consideration from the perspective of the various outstanding securities of the target. Furthermore, users will be able to filter transactions on Screener using additional industry classifications such as NACE, NAICS, for Target, Buyer/Investor, Seller and M&A deal terms.

Workflow Improvements:
  • Additional details for target company’s outstanding securities such as different classes of common stock, restricted stock units, performance stock units etc. have been added to the Consideration Details grid as well as click-through of various M&A valuation data points e.g. Transaction Value, Implied Enterprise Value, Implied Equity Value, etc.
  • Users can now click-through into S&P Capital IQ sourced financial values for M&A deal participants, target and buyer financials.
  • Users can now run transaction screens using additional industry classifications like NACE, NAICS, etc. and add M&A deal terms, Total Amount Raised using rounds of funding against transaction participants, as criteria and display columns. Additionally, users can get IPO Transaction ID of a company using Formula Builder in Excel or as a display column in the Companies dataset.

What’s new: In this release, we added a Contributor Groups filter for Investment Research documents within Document Viewer in Capital IQ Pro to enable users to refine searches based on contributor classifications such as Brokerage, Independent or Quantitative. In addition, users can filter searches based on customized contributor and analyst lists.

  • RatingsDirect® users now have access to an enhanced Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO) experience, featuring an expanded deal page and comprehensive CLO performance data. These enhancements facilitate a better understanding of CLO characteristics, helping users to make more informed investment decisions.
  • RatingsDirect® users now have access to a dedicated Sustainable Finance page, offering access to Second Party Opinions (SPOs) and Sustainability Research & Insights. Our SPOs, grounded in the methodology of the recently acquired Shades of Green, provide transparent evaluations of a company’s financing or framework. Together with our Sustainability Research & Insights, users gain valuable insights into contributions towards a sustainable future.
  • RatingsDirect® users now have access to a dedicated S&P Ratings Macroeconomic Credit Indicators page for sovereigns that displays sovereign risk and economic conditions. Users will have access to historical, current, and forecasted data, while gaining a deeper understanding and transparency into the credit analysis process for sovereigns.
  • RatingsDirect® users now have access to definitions for all Scores, Factors, and Modifiers directly on the Corporate or Country/Region Profile.   • RatingsDirect® users can set and receive S&P Global Ratings and Credit Research alerts based on US Public Finance (USPF) Revenue Source sectors and subsectors. What’s new: In this release we introduced new U.S. Bank Regulatory Aggregates and updated Credit Union Regulatory Financial Summary pages with the latest credit union summary fields. Additionally, we added Rate fields for Deposit and Consumer Loan products in all three Branch Analytics Applications (Market Share, Market Overlap, Merger Planning / HHI Analysis), which will achieve Rate-type field consistency across Screener, Desktop, and Branch Analytics. What’s new: In this release, we introduced 40+ new data items pertaining to IFRS 17, the largest change in accounting standards for global insurers in over 20 years. IFRS 17 requires insurers to present the current value of their insurance contracts (vs. historic value) and recognize profit over the lifetime of the contracts (vs. immediate term). These new disclosures will help users better understand the impact of insurance contracts on an insurance company’s profitability.

What’s new: In this release, we added new mining industry metrics including acquired assets, reserves and resources in the Transactions Screener and the S&P Capital IQ Pro plug-in. We also added the mine-level power/fuel source under Mine Economics in the Metals & Mining Property profile along with a newly launched Lithium Mine model in Excel Template Library.

Workflow Improvements:
  • Users can view mining deal details within the Transactions Screener and the S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in, covering the individual assets, acquired and associated reserves and resources. Commodity reserves and resources and the estimated value will assist in benchmarking activities and identifying precedent deals.
  • Users can view details on the power and fuel sources across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels that are used at the mine sites for mining and processing activities. This new data item from the Mine Economics production and cost dataset provides insight into the current energy considerations for an asset’s modeled energy and infrastructure costs.

  • Users can use numeric relative constants in their excel models. Relative constants are numerical values assigned to the current period and users can add or subtract from these constants to retrieve future or historical information.

What’s new: In this release, we enhanced our Loan Sector profile by adding functionality to enable borrower search, new page filters, and distribution visualizations to allow for a deeper understanding of the current loan market. We also updated S&P Ratings fields within various Screener views and S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in and expanded Rating and Debt types. In Debt Capital Structure, we now have additional data fields for loan securities and in Dashboard, a Top Loan Movers and Top Liquid Loan widgets are now available.

Workflow improvements:
  • Yield, Conversion, and Advisor data for Loan facilities on the Loan Security Detail page.
  • The price and analytics chart is enhanced with an additional custom date selector.
  • The Loan Sector profile page is enhanced to include search functionality by borrower, depth filtering, and enhanced visualizations to view current loan universe statistics for S&P Ratings distribution as well as minimum, median and maximum values for loans within a certain pricing range.
  • Dashboard and Screener now include price change and price change (%) fields. Top Loan Movers and Top Liquid Loan perspectives were also added on the Dashboard.
  • S&P Ratings field updates in screener and S&P Capital IQ Pro Plug-in
    • As a part of this change, the previous S&P Credit Ratings data fields will be retired. Any saved screen or Excel plug-in model that uses the old fields will need to be updated with the new metrics. What’s new: In this release, we introduced the new Country/Regional PMI Summary page that includes PMITM Headline data, PMI™ Press Releases, and PMI™ News. Within the page, users with the Purchasing Managers’ Index™ (PMI™) Global Index or Sector Index add-on subscription can access historical and current index levels for the Details, Flash and Outlook data series for Composite, Manufacturing, Services and Whole Economy as well as Market Groups, Electronics, Construction, Derived, Dubai and Canadian Region Indices. What’s new: In this release, users can access 39 new Estimate data points across 13 industries on the desktop and within the S&P Capital IQ Pro Office Plug-in. In addition, we added Selling, General & Administrative Expense Estimates and Research & Development Estimates for all industries. In late July, an additional 22 Estimate data points will be available, including data points for an additional industry, Education. Entity Research, Securities Summary and S&P Ratings Structure pages are available in the left-hand navigation menu.
  • Users can also view aggregated USPF sector and revenue source sector profiles, which include sector-level research insights, ratings distributions, coverage & recent actions. Lastly, users can filter rated USPF revenue sources and entities by parameters to view a distribution chart and list of entities on the S&P Ratings coverage page.
  • RatingsDirect® users can now search for U.S. Public Finance (USPF) entities, securities, and research within Typeahead and Advanced Search. This page also includes filter options along with revenue source hierarchy and ratings. Users can also view the Security Detail page for individual securities, focusing on the Obligor for the maturity. In addition, users will now see not rated reason codes for NR securities.
  • RatingsDirect® users can now access RatingsDirect® widgets for USPF entities and USPF securities on the Dashboard and can select desired entities, securities and lists they would like to view in the widget. USPF research is integrated with the S&P Ratings Research widget which can be broadcast to via the USPF entites and USPF securities widget.
  • RatingsDirect® users can now create alerts based on USPF securities and entities (Municipal ICR) for credit rating actions and credit research articles from the Create Alert page.
