Businesses blame energy, fuel prices for unfettered inflation
Inflation continues to hurt U.S. businesses, with an 11.3% rise in the producer price index for the month of June – a second consecutive month of double-digit annual growth in prices of goods and services. While the unemployment rate has recovered to pre-pandemic levels, businesses continue to face labor shortages amid strong competition for talent, high wage bills and lack of adequate skill sets.
