Connectivity became everything during the pandemic: in supporting home workers and delivering home entertainment among a host of other services that represent the opportunity for service providers to derive much needed value from their networks. Cable Docsis 3.1 and fiber, and 5G, represent the drivers for service diversification as well as for driving down costs in energy and servicing. Yet a significant disparity exists between these regions in the distribution of broadband networks, and even more so when considering the availability of giga-capable networks.
