Australia Exploration Budget Trends 2018

Exploration budgets directed to Australia have increased by US$247.5 million, or 23%, to US$1.33 billion in 2018, driven by a resurgence in junior company spending. This has made Australia the fourth-place region for exploration, climbing one spot since falling to fifth in 2005. Gold is still the main target, accounting for over half of the planned Australian spend. The third-highest gold producer worldwide, Australia has attracted 15% of the global gold budget in 2018.
