Example 3: I need to find banks whose total debt this year has increased by at least 30% compared to last year.

a. Type Banks within the Search bar and click Open Criterion.

b. Under formula builder, click create custom formula.

c. Select total debt, set as of to latest annual and click add to formula. This will now be added to the formula builder box.

d. Click on greater than sign (>) within build formula then add total debt again, this time, set as of to latest annual – 1 (since we want last year). Click add to formula.
e. Since we want at least 30%, multiply it by 0.3.

*Note: The default currency when creating a custom formula is U.S. Dollars (USD). The currency cannot be modified by the currency settings on the platform. To modify the currency, add the desired ISO code after the period parameter, as shown in the following example:

CIQAVAIL(IQ_TOTAL_DEBT,IQ_LATESTK,AUD) > CIQAVAIL(IQ_TOTAL_DEBT,IQ_LATESTK-1,AUD)*0.3

Reported Currency is not an available option when creating a custom formula. Such an option could return results in many different currencies and therefore not be comparable.

a. Click add criteria to get your final list of companies or add more criterion as needed.

Extra Feature! Save your custom formula so that your colleagues can use it as well! Tick on name and save this formula and set the access level to your group or company. You can find it under saved custom data points within formula builder.
