Watchlists and Alerts

Watchlists

Watchlists are analogous to a stock portfolio, and allow you to view the most recent value as of a specified point in time for up to 200 data series – both prices and fundamental indicators.

There are two ways to create a new watchlist:

1) Creating a Customized Watchlist:
  • Log in to the S&P Capital IQ Pro.
  • Go to the top-right Folder Icon and menu, select Lists, Portfolio &  Screens.
  • Select Create List or Portfolio.
2) Using Search Results:
  • Search a given entity in the search bar. Click the company name of your choice, leading you to the corporate profile.
  • At the top of the profile, to the right of the company name, click the "three dots" radio menu and select "Add to My Lists"
  • Click the Next button. To save the watchlist, click the Save button on the commodities toolbar and select Save As.
  • Type a name into the dialog box and click Save.
  • User Tip: Once saved, the watchlists appear under the Lists, Portfolios & Screens menu in the top-right Folder drop down menu.
Watchlist Display
  • Default Views – S&P Cap IQ Pro has created three default views to toggle between.
  • Basic View – Shows the most recent price
  • Detailed View – Shows the most recent price along with the day's Open, High, Low, Volume and Open Interest Volume where applicable.
  • Hourly View – This view only applies to LMP prices. It displays the most recent 24 hours for both the day-ahead and real-time markets, allowing you to see during what times and during what hours prices are high in a given market.
Editing Columns

You may add, remove and change the order of the columns displayed on your watchlist by clicking Edit > Edit Fields.

Sorting Your Watchlist

You may sort your watchlist by clicking Edit > Sort.

Export Data to Excel and PDF

You may export the watchlist grid to Microsoft Excel and PDF. Inline charts do not export. However, as the charts are images, you may right-click and save the chart image to your hard drive.
