The S&P Global Market Intelligence Private Equity and Venture Capital Outlook is an annual report that summarizes and analyzes the results of a survey we conduct among general partners (GP) and limited partners (LP), globally. In our survey, we asked about deal activity, changes in strategy, market and firm level challenges, environmental, social, governance (ESG) considerations, technology adoption, and more for 2024.
This year’s survey ran from November 2023 through January 2024 and saw responses from 181 private equity (PE) professionals, 120 venture capital (VC) professionals, and 69 limited partner professionals. Regionally, we received responses from 139 European participants, 117 North American participants, 50 Latin American participants, 40 Asia-Pacific participants, and 24 Middle Eastern and African participants.
As the fast-paced, constantly changing market environment persists, this report is designed to help private market participants view how they are positioned alongside their peers and navigate the year ahead.
