What does it take to be a leader in energy transition?

The year 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic have presented a whirlwind of challenges for all industries, and power sector has not been spared from the tumult.However, there are green shoots of opportunity for those focused on the transition to low-carbon energy.

In the recent 2020 Energy Transition Award, S&P Global Trucost identified a list of shortlisted finalists, ranked across 12 indicators of energy transition. On average, the finalists outshine their peers by:

• Reducing emissions twice as fast
• Produce one-third less emissions per MWh of power generated
• Generate more than half of their power from near zero emitting sources
• Have three times the share of wind and solar generation
